Our ongoing partnership
STND is proud to support Through the Smoke Road Race as a continuing community partner. The 2026 race brought Mandan together in support of firefighter fitness and well-being — and we’ll be back for 2027.
All proceeds benefit the Mandan Firefighters by funding fitness equipment and advanced training opportunities with leaders from across the United States.
About the race
Through the Smoke Road Race starts at the Mandan Firefighters Training Grounds and winds through the Lakewood area of Mandan, ND.
Events include a family-friendly 5K (walkers, dogs, and strollers welcome), a competitive 5K and 10K, and a kids’ half-mile race for ages 10 and under.
Supporting firefighter fitness and training strengthens physical performance and mental resilience — helping crews manage stress, build confidence, and stay ready for the work that matters most.
2027 Race — Date Coming Soon
The next Through the Smoke Road Race is being planned for 2027. STND will be there again as a proud community partner.

Donation & mission
Through the Smoke Road Race advances physical fitness, mental resilience, operational readiness, and professional development within the fire service.
Proceeds upgrade fitness equipment and expand opportunities for firefighters to attend accredited training programs. Access to proper resources and high-quality training supports long-term health, stress management, and performance on and off the job.

You don’t need to be at the race to support it. Every tee sold puts $5 directly toward firefighter fitness equipment and advanced training — year round, not just race day.
